screen mesh grill insert thing

anyone done this on their own? I was looking at doing one because my rad is covered in dead bugs so i figure it will look cool and keep the bugs out (and give me something to do on my jeep :wave: )

i just cant see how i would go about attatching the mesh screen to the front of the grill, on the inside of course.

I have one. It is steel. It came with sheet metal screws to attach it. I skipped on using them and used zip ties.

I dont like those on the outside of the grille, but I havent seen anyone install it on the inside.

You can't see it real well in the pic (it's just a crop), but there's 4 stainless steel bolts screwed into those goofy umbrella-shaped things pretending to be nuts. They're boogers to get on right, but they hide well. I painted the heads black to match the grill cover. It takes away from the classic Jeep look, but I had to do something where I live. Bugs would clog my radiator up in 3 or 4 days. It's pretty effective, the bugs fall off pretty easily, even after they've turned inside-out.

Maybe make it flexible to slide in between the grill slats and use magnets to hold it in place from the inside? I'd like one too but I don't like the ones on the outside either.

i must add: i had the black one,and just did not like the look of it. take's away from the classic jeep look. i returned it. and just added the black grille inserts. BUT it will protect the radiator, if you choose to get it.

I have been looking at them too. My dad just cut a piece of screen and laid it between the grill and radiator, looks like crap but he doesn't care.
