Current 85 cj7 frame is pretty rusty, looking to swap out frame, what year besides another 85 should I be looking for? What year would be best for an easy swap?

The early model shock mounts will work just fine with WideTrac axles, though. I swapped-on a set of WideTrac axles onto my '80 CJ-7 with no hassles. Of course, if the shocks on the WideTrac axles are different you might need to get a set of early-model (NarrowTrac) shocks.
