Alright well the title says it all. I was wondering what the max tire size is for a 94 XJ Country trim. I plan on doing a 3" lift with 31x10.50's. But was wondering if it would be ok to put those on before I lifted it or if I should wait.

29 or 30 inch by 9 inch wide (or so) is probably the biggest tire you could fit w/o some modification.
235/75r15 is 28.8x9.25 and is considered a +1 size for a stock Cherokee (and what was on my Jeep when I bought it).

Have you looked at what size tires the kit will clear?
RC's kit, for example, says it WILL clear 31x10.50.

You will probably want to install bigger bump stops (or add hockey pucks; Google it!) regardless.

Are you sure you want to spend the money on a lift to get such a small increase in tire size? :D

It all depends on your Jeep. I put 31x10.50 on my stock Jeep and have no problems with rubbing and I have NOT cut anything yet. I tried to get them to hit but even with stock bumpstops and suspension it will not rub. It may be an issue once I disconnect the front sway bar but with it still on I was able to get the Jeep to lift a tire and still not rub and I had several inches of clearance left.

I do not have a pic of the front end but I attached one of the rear fully stuffed (no rear sway bar) and it is on the bump stop in this pic and the other side is just barely touching enough that I had to put it in 4wd to pull out.

The rear will need a trim for 33s but only on the front and back, I should have a bit of room left up top.

Ok so you can put em on while stock. That's good to know. And I was told that the country trim comes with a 1" lift on it. Not sure how true that is but that should make it easier to fit the 31x10.50 tires on. I will still prob wait to lift it but its nice to see pics of one with em on while stock in case I get impatient haha

You will not be able to turn full lock on 31's - they WILL rub your LCA's. IF you disconnect you will rub the fenders and the pinch seam at the rear of the front fender well.

If you're alright chewing up your tread, then go ahead, 30's are the biggest on stock you can hope to leave the tread alone.

If you're willing to trim, then yes 31 will stuff, it's just a bit too much tire no lift without.

Well like I said I'm more than likely going to wait till I get a lift. Probably going for a 3" but might get a 3.5". Still trying to decide on a brand but have been looking at the rough country lifts. And I'm def not ok with eating up tread. Unless I scored so super cheaper already worn down tires or something. And even then i wouldn't want to put then on just to destroy em.
