Backup Camera through Stereo

I purchased a used 2001 Cherokee that has a backup camera installed on the back license plate and it's supposed to be connected through the car stereo which is a Kenwood KDC-X955. I for the life of me can not figure out how the previous owner used the backup camera. I am the third owner and the guy I purchased the Jeep from said that he never used it but he thought the original owner used it through his cell phone or ipad. Does anyone have any idea how it works or how I can get the backup camera view? Any help and information is greatly appreciated.

Have you searched for the Kenwood KDC-X955 owners manual and technical specifications to see if the stereo is camera capable? My brief search suggests that it is not.

I installed an aftermarket back-up cam in a vehicle, by purchasing a rear-view mirror with video input, and a generic hard wired back-up camera. You could also use a generic back-up cam screen. Some back-up cams and screens are wireless capable.
