Bolt fell out

I was recently working on a friends CJ7 and was jacking up the drivers side directly to the frame and this bolt and washer fell out. I can’t find where this may have come from. It is a carriage type bolt and large washer. No but that I have found. Any ideas? Thank you in advance

Looks to be from either the Tie Rod or Drag Link adjuster clamps.

I was replacing both drag link and tie rod ends at the time so this fell out prior to removing these. but this bolt is much thicker and fell out more toward the Center of the car.

Able to figure out it was from the steering shaft at the upper collar.

probably loosened up and fell on the road somewhere.

I actually punched it through and thought it was on the ground and a regular bolt. But it must have lodged in skid plate and fell out when I jacked up that side. So I thought it was a different one

That looks like one used for the clamp on your steering shaft....right at the top.
You have to use the right size bolt up there or you risk the shaft sliding off the spline. Ask me how I know.

I was pulling into my driveway one day and all of a sudden my steering wheel was freewheeling. Imagine if it happened on the fwy?
