I finally fixed the persistant dash leak. I was going to cut the outside lip on the windshield gasket and urethane the gasket to the windshield. A friend of mine who installs windshield glass, placed urethane under the lip.
I still got leaks. I put the window down, got some rubber insulation (the kind used by HVAC) and placed it on the body cowl under the windshiled (I had to cut the vent holes). I had the gasket urethaned under the hinges.
This stopped the water under the dask, but I would still get water coming from the ventilation. I took off the dashe this weekend and looked at the fresh air linkage. The cable to the bracket had come off and the cable from the bracket to the fresh air bax was binding not allowing the bracket to freely move (the reason the cable came off).
I resinstalled the cable to the bracket and this apparently pulled the vent panel in the cowl opening closed. I assume since the bracket had come off the cable the outside vent was not fully closing and allowing water to enter the vent.
It's pouring rain in western VA now and no leaks (except the small leaks through the saft doors). :2thumbsup:
