Yes, in addition to some other modifications as well.
What you need is a SYE kit & a CV driveshaft. Of course that would sound like "Greek" to you, so read this link from the YJ Tech Forum FAQ section and then post any questions you might have, right here in this thread!
I have a 4inch lift and i run a tcase drop and im far from having my slip yoke slip out. each person has a different issue when it comes to the driveshaft. basicly comes down to throwing the lift in and messuring
I think you're a lot closer to the "danger zone" than you might think.
Jerry & I had to split his T-case (in the Jeep, with the skid plate in place!) in an Office Depot parking lot, and he thought he was okay too. Lot's of carnage! :brickwall
I had a 4" RC lift in mine with a stock drive shaft and never had any problems with mine. but like someone else had said it matters what kind of wheeling your going to do. i feel that i did some good wheeling with mine.
I have put 2 kits on 2 different jeeps, One was a 4.0 the other a 2.5. Neither needed the SYE. BUT I also installed a 8.8 in at the same time, which if you are going to wheel the Jeep or install larger tires is a good thing.
I measured the drive shaft pull out and mine was only out about 1/2 inch more than stock. Which is just fine.
I am also running the rough country 4" with stock drive shafts. The rear drive shaft is not even at an extreme angle. No vibrations either. Time will tell I guess. I do plan on a Dana 300 swap in the future.
blue one is gone but that guy is selling it now, for half of what he paid for it lol... black one is like a child to me. an illegitimate bastard son of the devil.
