Fuel Tank to Charcoal Canister Hose Sizes

Hello All,

Long time Jeep CJ lover who just bought his third CJ7. Last one was sold in 1999 to purchase my wife's engagement ring. Still married so I am pretty sure it was the right choice (although a difficult one).

I am in the process of undoing all the harm the PO has done to my 1978 CJ7. One of the things done was to remove the charcoal vapor canister and vent the fuel tank under the tub just under the driver seat. To my surprise, the liquid check valve and rollover valves were still there and after removing and cleaning them they seem to be operational. I am assuming that the PO plugged one of the fuel tank vent lines and is venting the other under the tub, but I won't know this until I drop the tank (need to check sending unit because I ran out of gas on Monday when the gauge said I had half a tank...this is all coming back to me now).

I have purchased a new charcoal canister that was mentioned in a retrofit thread that needs slight modification to replace the OE one.

My question is what size(s) are the hoses that run from the tank to the liquid check valve, the check valve to the rollover valve and then from the rollover valve to the charcoal canister? Mine were all ripped out so before buying a whole bunch of hose and trial/erroring it I thought I would ask the group. Also, do I need to use fuel hose for these runs or vacuum hose? I am thinking fuel hose.

Glad to be a CJ owner once again and I appreciate any and all assistance

The two vent lines from the tank to the liquid check valve are 1/4", from the liquid check valve to the roll over valve is 1/4", from the roll over valve it is 1/4" but gets necked up to 5/16" line to make the run down the frame rail to the canister. I would also stick with fuel rated line for those.
