I prefer the arduino can bus shield and sketch method but for those wanting to use just one fairly small junkyard part here is another way
only works for low speed bus versions of the can bus radios but works for all of them
only thing you need besides the radio and harness connectors is the steering module aka clockspring form a 2005-2007 WK or a 2007-2008 commander
You will need the 16 pin connect on the vehicle side of the clockspring-steering module
be aware this is a very pricey part but junkyard just sees it as a clockspring
Also if want to wire some remote radio controls get the 2 pin connector on the steering wheel side or the same 2 pin connector either floor courtesy lamps
You will want to wire 6 wires on the 12 pin connector
can B Bus +
can B Bus -
battery power (here can use accessory power so module and thus radio shuts down when key to off position)
ground wire
and the 2 wires that for to ignition switch connection them with a 1.5K ohm resistor to simulate ignition switch in accessory position
The 2 pin connect to any can bus era remote steering wheel control switch pair (the flat backed ones in 2011 and up vehicles are easiest to mount)
then Can B bus wires to new radio as well as ground and battery power and speaker wires
that is it no expensive aftermarket module needed
will work for any can b bus radio
inludes all the RAQ 6 cd changer and newer
RES REQ RER REN RBZ RHB RHR as long as they cam from a vehicle with the low speed B bus not the higher speed can ihs bus
would still need an arduino box (build for about $10 if you want to add back up camera and viewing video on screen as that requires a park gear message or reverse gear message over the bus
