This is the set I have. The only issue I remember id the breather bolt is too large to fit through the block which is why its loose.

Thats the same splitter that came with my set. IRO said thats the only option they have, so we'll end up making a replacement left hard line to fit.

Every once in awhile a ZJ has an oddball splitter arrangement. It's very rare but it happens. I had the exact same thing occur on mine. I just bought some tubing that had a fitting on the one end and bent up a new hard line to match the splitter.
We have hard line and flair tools so we're planning on making a left hard line to fit the IRO fitting. Right hard line (from the kit I got from you) should fit ok.

Today I made the unfortunate discovery that the style of led switchback I use on the green pig is out of style and even my stock of spares are the new style.

Which is a shame, cause I like the color change trick and wanted to do the same thing to fiver.

So, fiver gets reassembled with factory style markers, and I put in an eBay order for some potential alternatives to the discontinued superbrightleds part.

Slow Jeep day here. I dropped down the heat shield above the converter and muffler cleaned out all the Arizona red dirt, ran to Ace Hardware and bought three new spring nuts that were missing, and remounted everything. Drank coffee and played with the dogs.

Finished all the brake line and hose work. Replaced ABS pump controller. Replaced my broken rear backup/trail camera. Replaced hatch door card with a better one we salvaged from a scrap yard donor. Next big project is replacing the heater core (leaking :( ) and evap core.

Drove fiver to work, first time its left the neighborhood since June.

It's the little victories.

Where did you find an ABS controller for these? They seem to be hard to find!

We salvaged one (whole ABS module) from a pick-a-part yard. Cracked it open, resoldered the power connectors, and resealed it (some RTV, some Gorilla Glue, and electrical tape; not the prettiest job). The power lines from the ABS motor to the controller were also trashed; the insulation completely gone. Cleaned it up as best we could and wrapped each line in electrical tape, then bundled them together with more tape.

When we were bleading the brake lines, we hooked a scanner up and it was smart enough to be able to bleed the ABS system. When we did, the ABS motor kicked on and off and the scanner completed the bleed process. Have not tried to slam the brakes on grass or gravel to see if it works under real world conditions yet.

Just about every ZJ I've seen at pick-a-part yard had the ABS system intact (but wires in sad shape). So you should be able to find one; you'll probably just have to do a 'rebuild' like I did.

Edit: We also pulled the motor off the top and cleaned the motor spindle and added a bit of grease to the needle bearings. Did't take any pics of that process though...

What I did with mine was just on a wild guess I used by bi-directional scanner to actuate the pump and it got rid of the ABS light which was going on & off for years. Now it’s been off since Feb. Not sure if it was just stuck or what.

I ran across this post this morning and remembered I had a splice in my harness and went to investigate... Boy, did I open a can of worms. It never stops with these older Jeeps, does it?

My ABS light burned out a while back :) I'll replace the bulb when I tear the dash out.

Anyone have a good LED alternative for the dash lights?

T The abs controller doesn't seem to like it though.
Can confirm. I did all mine about 2 years ago and I noticed issues with the brake and abs lights having some minor illumination to them. I also noted my turn signal indicators glowed faintly when the headlights were on but Im unsure if that was due to the cluster change, my full LED exterior bulb swap, or both. If you opt to do that spend the money and get high-quality bulbs, not the stuff from O'Reilly's or Autozone. I purchased the 6500 K white from superbrightleds.com, but even at the lowest setting, I found them to be too bright. I ended up swapping to blue. That helped a lot and really gave the gauges a unique look.

added a 97 driver side inside door light to my 93 passenger door
already wired from factory for light although came with just reflector
had already changed reflector to light on the driver side

the 93-95 ZJ are reversed from the 96-98 ZJ and early WJ
so a driver side fits passenger side and a passenger side fits driver side

was as simple as pop out reflector plug in light and pop it in place

How did you manage that? If it's the stock 194, it's a single filament bulb

The A-type there is the flavor that blinks amber-off-amber-off and then returns to white when the blinker is off. The type I actually used in the pig is the no longer available B type that will blink amber-white-amber-white.

Not sure if I updated the link when superbright discontinued the B style, or if I just typo'd it the first time around.

Hoping that these do the right thing - 2pc 1157 Dual Color Switchback White/Amber 57-SMD LED Turn Signal Light Bulbs | eBay

Find out later in the week.

After I read his write-up i noted he went from the factory 194 to a 1157 bulb, which is a dual filament bulb. that explains how the bulb knew voltage wise which pattern to use.
