What did you do to your CJ today?
SEPT 19TH?!?! Is my calendar off or are you posting this from the future?!?! Do the Cubs with the series?!?! 😆 🤣 😂Sept. 19th Installed new drag link and replaced tie rod ends on center/tie rod. Centered steering wheel. Went on I-70 at 65-70mph for 14 miles and steering was tight with no wandering. Filled tank, 14.46 gallons and 140.20 miles= 9.7mpg. Added bottle of Seafoam to tank before filling. Drag link and tie rod ends are MOOG parts from Rock Auto.
Thats today's entry into the journal I keep of work done on the CJ.
Wow... I guess I need to learn to read. I glanced down at the date in the lower corner of the 'puter screen and apparently misread it.SEPT 19TH?!?! Is my calendar off or are you posting this from the future?!?! Do the Cubs with the series?!?! 😆 🤣 😂
My jeeps are registered as antiques, also. The insurance policy allows 2500 miles per year, each. The cost is $328.00 / year, insured for $32K (on the gray one).Antique tags here come with mileage limits and require vehicle be insured as an antique.
not happening, as I enjoy driving it too much!
I dont know, but as an example, if I were over-mileage, would my insurance cover a loss? Most policies have a clause that they wont cover the vehicle if its being operated illegally. So, might an insurance company refuse a claim because I knowingly exceeded the mileage limit? I've given a deposition once where an ins company denied a claim because the driver was operating while suspended, so I know it does happen..who's doing the monitoring?
I completely understand...I'm that way about a lot of things in life.I dont know, but as an example, if I were over-mileage, would my insurance cover a loss? Don't know if that's silly to worry about or not, but as mine is my daily driver, the whole thing isn't worth messing with just to save a few dollars on tags.
Did you have to state the mileage on the vehicle when you originally got the policy? If so and you had a loss a few years later they could do the math at 2500 per year and see if you were over the allowable mileage. If you're over, be ready for a fight!I don't exceed the mileage, not even close, between the 2 jeeps, and if I did....who's doing the monitoring?
