yesterday drove her to town to pay some bills, pickup a coffee creamer and some chicken food. then drove to bank made deposit , went to get 5 gallons diesel and on to the house. i had every aspect of the trip laid out so as to drive to the end of town and work my way back to the house. YA well that didnt work out at all. went to one end of town then to the other end of town and kinda bounced around like a pin ball machine in between. worst part is i forgot to get the jeep gased up, SO today i got to get back to town and gas up the jeep. ( i think my mind did that on purpose so i would drive the jeep again):D(y)

Worked on the turn signal switch that was causing some weird signal functions. Basically sprayed it with electronic cleaner. Sprayed electronic cleaner on the head lights switch while I was at it. The dim feature was getting erratic and needed some cleaning. Removed it first and gave it a good spray down. Both functioning like they should now.
Also repaired my headlight malfunction I never noticed before until I drove it in the dark a couple of weeks ago. High beam worked but low beam had both the lower and high beam filaments on. Found I had put the black ground where low beam should have been and vs. Swapped the terminals of the plug and now functioning like they should.

Drove it to work and home again.
The parts arrived today from Rock Auto to replace the drag link and tie rod ends. So, while its not so much what I did today as what I'll be doing tomorrow :)

Sept. 19th 13th Installed new drag link and replaced tie rod ends on center/tie rod. Centered steering wheel. Went on I-70 at 65-70mph for 14 miles and steering was tight with no wandering. Filled tank, 14.46 gallons and 140.20 miles= 9.7mpg. Added bottle of Seafoam to tank before filling. Drag link and tie rod ends are MOOG parts from Rock Auto.

Thats today's entry into the journal I keep of work done on the CJ.

Cut the ends off my door opening protector screws so they would not poke my wires i ran under the lip. Snapped my clips on and tucked in my wire loom . That was it for that for now,
I also looked at my hardtop liftgate. Im either gonna have to replace it or rig up something to straighten the hatch some how, like a frame to put it in iand compress it.

SEPT 19TH?!?! Is my calendar off or are you posting this from the future?!?! Do the Cubs with the series?!?! 😆 🤣 😂

Replaced leaking water pump. Sat for several weeks but finally ordered parts and installed it. Couple connections were a little tricky. Broke a bolt in the process as well. All part of the fun! Never done one by myself before. Realize looking at pics I could've painted it.

Pump will last just as long.......naked :)

Well usually Sept 15 marks the beginning of fall around here with cool nights and warm days. But we are in a heat wave. Since I will be busy, I took the bikini top off and topless it is. Will start putting soft top rails on shortly cause one day soon it will be here.

Wow... I guess I need to learn to read. I glanced down at the date in the lower corner of the 'puter screen and apparently misread it.

Antique tags here come with mileage limits and require vehicle be insured as an antique.
not happening, as I enjoy driving it too much!
My jeeps are registered as antiques, also. The insurance policy allows 2500 miles per year, each. The cost is $328.00 / year, insured for $32K (on the gray one).

I don't exceed the mileage, not even close, between the 2 jeeps, and if I did....who's doing the monitoring?

.who's doing the monitoring?
I dont know, but as an example, if I were over-mileage, would my insurance cover a loss? Most policies have a clause that they wont cover the vehicle if its being operated illegally. So, might an insurance company refuse a claim because I knowingly exceeded the mileage limit? I've given a deposition once where an ins company denied a claim because the driver was operating while suspended, so I know it does happen.
Don't know if that's silly to worry about or not, but as mine is my daily driver, the whole thing isn't worth messing with just to save a few dollars on tags.

I completely understand...I'm that way about a lot of things in life.

Added 1 qt of oil castrol 10w-40. It was 1 qt low exactly. I changed my oil with napa premium oil when i changed it a couple months ago. So i mixed brands unfortunately.
I think the member on here was correct when he said i have blow by , when we were talking about whitish residue under my filler cap. Because its coming out of my pcv hose

As long as you are apples to apples,(regular or synthetic), brands really dont mean as much as switching viscosity. All the oil manufacturers have a standard to adhere to. Your engine cannot determine brand, but it will behave differently with a thicker or thinner oil.

Did you have to state the mileage on the vehicle when you originally got the policy? If so and you had a loss a few years later they could do the math at 2500 per year and see if you were over the allowable mileage. If you're over, be ready for a fight!
